Sheldon Kessel MusicArtist's StatementGreetings. This is the home for my music compositional activities beyond popular music activites of my alter-ego Octathorpe® or my band Milkbar. I am interested in electronic, electro-acoustic, and small ensemble pieces including solo instrument works. Beyond instrumentation, I am interested in rhythmic density above all. In my work, rhythm plays the leading role with melody and harmony playing supporting roles to the rhythm. I am also interested in collage - blending sound and style from opposing musical worlds to create something new and unexpected.
